Christmas tree is an evergreen conifer such as pine or fir which is traditionally associated with the celebration of Christmas. Setting up a Christmas tree has become a tradition now and most of them love to grow and decorate the natural trees in their home.
Fir (Abies) are most commonly used as a Christmas tree because this fir do not shed their needles even after drying and also retain good foliage color and fragrance. There are varieties of pines grown as Christmas tree but not every tree grows well. Growing Christmas trees need lots of attention and care. Fir tree requires a wide variety and well-drained soil type. Pine trees adapt sandy soil or loamy soil. Few species perform well on both types of soils.
